Trinket tray in enameled earthenware, adorned with a blue and white monochrome decoration in the Delft style, depicting a lakeside scene with sailboats navigating offshore and, on the right, a stretch of land topped by a windmill.
A rare example of Auguste Jean's earthenware with blue and white decoration in the Delft style, this piece is all the more interesting as few of the artist's trinket trays have survived. Furthermore, it constitutes a particularly late testimony to his ceramic production, having been created in Vierzon, where Auguste Jean worked during the final years of his life.
Condition: Good condition.
Signature: Signed, blue enamel: "JA V".
