Ovoid vase in blown glass of almost opaque dark purple color, with metallic reflections and enhanced with gilded accents. The material, freely hot-worked, forms a tripod base, an irregular neck with an almost "jagged" rim, as well as long undulating "tears" seeming to flow from the neck, accentuating the organic and fluid character of this vase.
The body is adorned with a polychrome enameled painted decoration, composed, on one side, of a guitar and, on the other, of a twilight landscape in which the moon appears in reserve, standing out against the purple background of the vase and surrounded by clouds heightened with gold.
Several vases of comparable form are known today, demonstrating Auguste Jean's variation of the same model in different colors, decorations, and material treatments. This guitar motif, however, remains unique in Auguste Jean's production.
Condition: Good condition.
Signature: Signed on the base in red enamel "AJean".
