Small jardiniere in dark purple blown glass. The shape is enriched with several hot-worked and applied elements: the base, the neck stretched with pliers, and the glass "tears" that seem to flow from it, accentuating the organic nature of the material.
The jardiniere features a polychrome enameled decoration of Far Eastern inspiration, composed of flowering cherry branches intertwined with ribbons adorned with floral motifs evoking traditional Japanese textile designs. Metallic effects and numerous gilded highlights further enrich the composition.
Several jardinieres of comparable shape are known today, of varying sizes. However, they are systematically distinguished by the color of the glass and the composition of their enameled decoration, making each example a singular work.
Condition: Good condition.
Signature: Signed on the reverse, under the base.
