Small tripod basket, in translucent blue blown glass with metallic reflections, enhanced with gilt highlights. The piece exhibits significant hot-working, particularly visible in the base, the "tears" flowing from the neck onto the body, and the undulating neck shaped with pincers. A tubular handle, also hot-applied, forms an elegant arch-shaped handle.

The body is adorned with a polychrome and gilt enamel decoration of Japanese inspiration, composed of flowering branches, flowers, and small plant motifs. A gilt rectangular cartouche features the delicate representation of a bird in flight, directly evoking the aesthetic of Japanese prints. The richness of the decoration, the gold highlights, and the metallic effects of the glass give the ensemble a particularly precious and refined character.

Several baskets of comparable shape are known today, of varying dimensions. However, they are consistently distinguished by the color of the glass and the composition of their enameled decoration, making each example a unique work.

Condition: Good condition

Signature: Signed on the reverse, under the basket, in red enamel: "A Jean".
