Pair of four-sided vases with a square quadripod base, made of translucent smoked blown glass in an amber color with numerous gilded highlights and metallic effects. The structure is enriched with several worked and hot-applied elements: the base, the neck stretched with pincers, the glass "tears" that seem to escape from it, and the cabochons applied to the belly.
The vases feature rich polychrome enameled decoration of Japoniste inspiration, composed of flowers, leafy and blooming branches, and various plant motifs. The main faces are adorned with ribbon supports for floral motifs, as well as several circular or rectangular cartouches. These feature decorations of flowers or birds, sometimes shown in flight, sometimes perched on branches, against alternately gilded or silver-white backgrounds.
Several vases of comparable shape are known today, of varying dimensions. However, they are consistently distinguished by the color of the glass and the composition of their enameled decoration, making each example a unique work.
