Small quadrangular jardiniere, in translucent amber-colored smoked blown glass, enhanced with blue glass elements worked and applied while hot: the four-legged base, the rim, and the glass "teardrops" that seem to flow from it. The contrast between the two glass colors and the hot-applied details gives the object an organic and precious character.

The surface is adorned with a rich polychrome enameled decoration of Far Eastern inspiration, combining ribbons in multiple shapes containing floral and geometric patterns reminiscent of traditional Japanese textiles, as well as flowered and leafy branches. The whole is enhanced with numerous gold accents and metallic effects.

On one of the main sides appears the inscription "TRÉPORT", referring to the Norman town of the same name, a famous seaside resort. This inscription could indicate a special order, the place of residence of an owner, a commercial destination, or perhaps commemorate a stay or an event. In the absence of further documentation, its meaning remains uncertain.

Several jardinieres of comparable shape are known today, of varying dimensions. However, they consistently differ in the color of the glass and the composition of their enameled decoration, making each example a unique work. None, however, feature the mention of a location like this one.

Condition: Good condition.

Signature: Signed on the reverse, under the piece, in red enamel: "A.Jean".
