Large tapered pyriform tripod vase in translucent smoky glass tinted ruby red, its three sides separated by undulating "ribs" of blue-violet glass, hot-worked with tongs, as is the neck, also pulled with tongs. The body features a rich polychrome and gilded enamel decoration of Neo-Renaissance inspiration, characterized by interlaces and foliate scrolls, combined with baskets and vases of flowers, typical of a Bérain-style decoration.

These motifs, executed in polychrome enamels with iridescent effects and heightened with gold, evoke the ornamental vocabulary developed by Jean Bérain at the end of the 17th century, based on symmetrical compositions, arabesques, and a profusion of vegetal and decorative motifs.

Several vases of comparable form are known today. One of them shows strong similarities with this one, both in the color of the glass and the composition of its enameled decoration, while distinguishing itself by the presence of a portrait on its body.
