Small tripod basket in translucent blue blown glass, with metallic reflections, enhanced with touches of gilding. Several elements are hot-worked and applied: the base, the glass "teardrops" that appear to flow from it, as well as the handles, whose ends meet and merge into a crowning knot. The basket is adorned with a polychrome enameled decoration with a Japonisme inspiration, composed of polylobed medallions, ribbons, and fans supporting floral and geometric motifs evoking traditional Japanese textiles, as well as leafy and flowered branches.

Several baskets of comparable shape are known today, of varying dimensions. They are, however, systematically distinguished by the color of the glass and the composition of their enameled decoration, making each example a unique work.

Condition: Good condition.

Signature: Signed on the reverse, under the piece, red enamel: "A.Jean".
